Deutscher Sport Club Sports

The Deutsche Sport Club (DSC) was a Charter Member when the Central Virginia Soccer Association (CVSA) was founded in 1975. From 1975 to 1988 our club teams won a total of 27 championships with their Premier teams alone. In 1988the club canceled its very successful soccer program. After five years without a soccer team, the DSC, with a recommendation from its Sports Manager, Gary Ilch, decided to one again create an adult soccer program. In 1993 the club once again competed in the CVSA with a team in the Premier Division and one in the First Division. Later two more teams were added. Even though the teams were quite successful they never reached the level of dominance that they had from 1777 to 1988.

In 2001 the club was once again forced to cancel its soccer program because of the lock of a suitable coaches and managers.

Now the time has come to once again try to establish a soccer program. After all the name â€œSports Clubâ€? almost demands that we have a sports program.

Soccer players, potential coaches and people who would like to manages a soccer team, and would like to be part of a soccer program that is part of a well establish club with over 300 members, should contact Hans Stienen. If the interest is there we would like to start competing in the Spring Season of 2007.

At this time we are not completely without soccer. Every Sunday morning a group of older club members meet at Dorey park to play a frienly pick up game.
